TAME Pain: Trustworthy AssessMEnt of Pain from Speech and Audio for the Empowerment of Patients
Published in PhysioNet, 2025
Abstract
The TAME Pain dataset provides a comprehensive collection for studying the relationship between induced acute pain and speech in adults. The dataset consists of audio recordings, audio metadata, participant data, and detailed annotations. We recorded over 7,000 utterances from 51 participants using the Cold Pressor Task (CPT) method to induce pain, correlating their self-reported pain levels with vocal cues. This dataset includes comprehensive annotations detailing background noise, speech errors, and non-speech vocal features.
